NUCLEAR WEAPONS MEAN WAR CRIMESINLAP/World Court Project invites all of you to take part in the Affirmation of Criminality of Nuclear Weapons (CNW) project. This goes to the heart of the matter by linking international law with our human values. Individuals or groups can sign an Affirmation rejecting any use of nuclear weapons because this would be a war crime.
There is additional information on www.nuclearweapons-warcrimes.org/ where Affirmations can be signed online. You can find an information sheet about CNW on http://www.nuclearweapons-warcrimes.org/x%20Article.rtf. On the Home page there is a link to our facebook page and it would help to spread the words if you could “like” this.
Following the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference in 2010, states are beginning to state their belief that nuclear weapons use would violate international law. The purpose of the Affirmations is to provide citizen support for these states in the expectation that their number will increase and the hope that they will work together to achieve a formal declaration of illegality of use. This would be of considerable help towards the conclusion of a global Nuclear Weapons Convention which would ban the production, testing, possession and use of nuclear weapons.
The CNW Project will help to prepare the way towards a global treaty banning the threat or use of nuclear weapons and their possession. States, including the UK, need to hear from us, the public, that the very thought of using nuclear weapons is intolerable.
If you would like paper versions of the Affirmation to pass round you can see what they look like onhttp://www.nuclearweapons-warcrimes.org/x%20Affirm%20NWS%20donate.pdf
Do you? If so, go to www.nuclearweapons-warcrimes.org and sign your online Affirmation INLAP/WORLD COURT PROJECT UK
