Reading and Newbury have bus services to Aldermaston and Burghfield.
There are no direct trains to either site.
By Train: to Reading, Newbury, and Basingstoke.
Although there are other small stations near by these have the best bus links. There will be long walks if you use other stations.

• Train to Reading: London Paddington station runs very frequent direct trains to Reading. 30 minute journey.
• Train to Newbury. London Paddington station runs very frequent trains to Newbury. approximately 1 hour journey.
• Train to Basingstoke: London Waterloo station runs very frequent trains to Basingstoke. approximately 1 hour journey. Then bus to Tadley AWE

• Bus from Reading to Burghfield AWE Catch Reading Bus 2 or 2A Journey time around 35 minutes
Directions from: Reading Railway Station,walk to Blagrave Street, bus stop (see map below) for bus 2 or 2A
From Friends Meeting House Risc walk to St Mary’s Butts bus stop for bus 2 or 2A
ask to get off at: Burghfield Amners Farm Road stop , The Mearings stop, OR Burghfield St Mary’s Church stop
(You might prefer to get off at Burghfield Amners Farm Road stop or Burghfield St Marys Church stop and then walk a short way to AWE Burghfield. Also use any of these terms on Google maps)
Returning back to Reading ask for Reading Forbury Road stop.

Directions From Reading Railway Station, walk to Blagrave Street, bus stop EL (see map below)
Catch Reading Bus 2 or 2A ask to get off at: Brimpton Common AWE Main Gate bus stop or Brimpton Common the Falcon bus stop.
Journey time around 30 minutes
Returning back to Reading ask for Reading Forbury Road bus stop.
• Bus from Basingstoke to Burghfield or Aldermaston (Brimpton Common) you will need to catch a train from Basingstoke to Reading with a total journey time of around1.30 hours then see above.
• Bus from Newbury to Aldermaston main gate . ( no bus from Newbury to Burghfield, go to Reading by train)
Many journeys are more complicated from here with only a few direct buses.

Newbury to Aldermaston main gate

• Bus from Basingstoke to Aldermaston .
• Use these search terms. Basingstoke Bus Station, stop D,Jazz 2 bus
Ask for Brimpton Common, opp’Aldermaston Road The Triangle (on A340 Mulford’s Hill)
Then walk to AWE gates.
Return from opposite side of road to drop off stop.
