little_people
Action AWE is a campaign mobilising and making visible mass public opposition to Trident replacement, through action and events at AWE Aldermaston, AWE Burghfield & in the nearby towns of Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke.

YOU ARE NEEDED!

Please come to the Trident Ploughshares/AAWE Disarmament Camp, 26 August – 8 September at AWE Burghfield.

Do join us at the camp to meet others taking action to stop Trident & shut down the nuclear weapons factories; form affinity groups; take part in workshops; and get to know the area around AWE to help you plan future actions.
Full information on the Trident Ploughshares website, including a registration link & full details of how to get there:http://tridentploughshares.org/awe-burghfield-summer-disarmament-camp-2013/

Block Burghfield! 2 September 2013
Come and shut down the warheads assembly plant at AWE Burghfield, now gearing up to replace the current Trident warheads. Join campaigners from 7a.m. onwards. If you want help with transport from Reading station on the day then ring Dave on 07966-726989. If you want to get more information or find a bed then ring 0845-4588-362. Maps of Burghfield can be found with information about Burghfield at http://actionawe.org/awe-burghfield/

There are only 2 gates at AWE Burghfield so just choose your gate and go and sit there! If we don’t want nukes threatening us all then you CAN stop them.

AAWE camped at the Main Gate of AWE Burghfield and several people fasted for 4 days there to commemorate the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. It was a good opportunity to get a feel for the base and establish our nonviolent presence ready for action during the coming camp.

Ken Loach

“Spending £100 billion on replacing Trident is a catastrophic folly. I’m sure I am one of many who support the those, like Action-AWE, who campaign actively and imaginatively against it”

– Ken Loach

John Hurt

".....the government has pledged to rebuild a new generation of British nuclear weapons at enormous cost and at a time when social services budgets including those for health and education are being drastically cut. Having nuclear weapons doesn't make us safer, it just brings the possibility of nuclear conflict ever closer. We need to protect this planet not put it at even more risk of destruction. We all have a voice so please use yours and join me in supporting ACTION AWE." John Hurt
